One of the anticipated upcoming Korea's first disaster film, Haeundae - directed by Yoon Je-kyoon and stars Sol Kyung-gu and Ha Ji-won. The film is scheduled for a July 2009 release in South Korea.
Plot
Situated on the southeastern tip of the Korean Peninsula, Haeundae draws one million visitors to its beaches every year. Man-sik, a Haeundae local, lost a co-worker in a tsunami while deep-sea fishing four years ago. He now runs a small sushi restaurant and plans to propose to his long time girlfriend, Yeon-hee. Meanwhile, geologist Kim Hwi notices that the Sea of Japan (East Sea) is displaying similar activity to the Indian Ocean at the time of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. The Disaster Prevention Agency assures him that Korea is at no risk, but when he discovers a tsunami forming near Japan that is heading straight for Korea, he quickly travels down to Haeundae. -- Wikipedia
